About Washington State Convention & Trade Center

Planning for the Seattle Washington State Convention & Trade Center began in 1982. Construction started on the center in 1985, and the first event was held there in 1988. The center was expanded in 2001. The convention center has meeting rooms, ballrooms and exhibit halls. Several halls can be combined into a theater to seat 8,700 people. Over 4,000 can be seated for a banquet in combined halls.

The center is in downtown Seattle. Pike Place Market is a mile away. The center is a little over a mile from the attractions at Seattle Center. A number of bus routes stop within a quarter mile of the center.
